关于这道题，我想这样来解释可能更清楚些。在牛津英汉双解词典里，so as to= in order to,so that=in order that.

问题就在这里， in order to有个用法是in order for sb. to do sth.而一般情况下我们都会有个assumption把for sb.去掉，而认为主语就是to do sth.的逻辑主语。

举个例子，1. I build the house in order for you to live in.

2. I build the house so that/in order that you can live in.

在第一个例子中，live的逻辑主语不是句子主语I，而是you。显然2比1更加明确。
