TITLE：Some people choose friends who are different form themselves. Others choose
friends who are similar to themselves. Compare the advantages of having friend
s who are different from you with the advantages of having friends who are sim
ilar to you. Which kind of friend do you prefer for yourself? Why?

There is nothing more important than friends in our life. Making friends who are similar to or different from ourselves is indispensable for everyone. Both of the kinds of friends have obvious advantages. The friends who are similar to ourselves could bring us more pleasure while the other kind of friend could share more experience with us.

As far as I am concerned, the friends who are different from myself is more suitable to me. There are a number of reasons as to why this is the case. First of all, there are more opportunities to obtain the useful experience of different fields from the friends who are different to myself. For example, when I was obsessed with some problems based on my own major, journalism, the experience and knowledge from one of my friends whose major is psychology can give me an unexpected inspiration. Without so much experience shared with other friends, my ordinary life will become tedious and my academic performance will be dull.

Another reason why I incline to choose friends who are different from myself is because these friends can help me adapt to our society more easily. It is widely acknowledged that the society consists of different people. The different personalities, interests and habits reflected from our friends can make me recognize the diversity of society more clearly.

On the other hand, the friends who are similar to ourselves can make us feel more happy and comfortable because of the same inclination, value and personalities. For example, my roommate and I are both the soccer fans. Hence, we will be very happy when we watch the games together.

In conclusion, both of the kinds of friends are important to all of us. Of course, it is more  important for me to make friends who are different from myself as many as possible.
