(C) The Populists of the 1890s having exalted the rural myth,

(D) Just like the rural myth was exalted by the Populists of the 1890s（B）

(E) Populists of the 1890s were exalting the rural myth, and

排除C/D/E，只看A/B。

A：前面是一个介宾结构，所以后面不能用连词+句子吗？

B：前面已经有as连词+句子了，后面还可以so连词+句子吗？

谁说这里so只能是连词了？查字典。你看看这里so做什么词合适。
