In general our advice is that you write most schools unless there are schools on your list where it is VERY OBVIOUS you would rather go. So for example if you applying to NYU and Columbia, NYU knows that 100% of those people would prefer to go to Columbia. So in that case it’s better to not mention Columbia.

另一个建议是写一些特点类似的学校，提现申请人并不是随机的看排名选几个学校，而是确实对学校做了research，比如想做Tech方向申请CMU的话，就可以写还申请了UT Austin和UW Foster，因为这几个学校都是可以做Tech的，而且也基本上排名差不了太多. 但最好就不要写和Tech比较远的这个档次的学校了. 也最好不要写UC Berkeley，因为按照Jon说的，如果拿到伯克利很可能就不去CMU了
