[求助]prep1-28的疑惑,望大侠指点

28.   (26003-!-item-!-188;#058&002229)

Polio, although it is eradicated in the United States, it continues elsewhere and is able to be brought into the country by visitors.

Polio, although it is eradicated in the United States, it continues elsewhere and is able to be brought into the country by visitors.

(A) Polio, although it is eradicated in the United States, it continues elsewhere and is able to be

(A) Polio, although it is eradicated in the United States, it continues elsewhere and is able to be

(B) Polio, although eradicated in the United States, it still continues elsewhere and can be

(C) Although still continuing elsewhere, polio has been eradicated in the United States and could be

(D) Although having been eradicated in the United States, polio still continues elsewhere and is capable of being

(E) Although eradicated in the United States, polio continues elsewhere and could be

答案是E,但是我怎么觉得E的although部分应该是用被动啊?Although is eradicated in the ...., polio continues...

PS,E选项除了被动的问题,还有,although引导的句子是否要求完整啊?感觉连词应该连一个完整的句子啊?

问题狠弱,请大家别嫌弃。

it is ok.

eradicated is to modify "polio".

you can also evaluate from "can be, could be" but not "be able to, or capable of" in this case.

Hope it helps.

(E) Although eradicated in the United States, polio continues elsewhere and could be
答案中的时态为何不一致?觉得应该用can啊

用排除法做可能更好一定吧 本来语法就不是说一个最完美的选项的 able 表示能力,毙掉a d,b多了一个it,c搞错了让步关系 故而只有最后一个。可能时态上并列会更好吧 我认为,情态动词是有时态的区分的,但是也只是最后一个好些了

关于D选项的could用法找到了Ron的解释
the instance of "could" in the sentence is an example of what i have described as "#2" here:
Usage #1
"Would" is the past tense of "will", and "could" is the past tense of "can".
Usage #2
"Would" and "could" are used to describe hypothetical situations that are not true, or are extremely unlikely. (since these situations are hypothetical -- i.e., they never happened -- they don't really have a timeframe.)
应该就是表达一种可能的情况吧
