         2.where they had visited...

            用完成式形態為什麼不好?

首先，分词短语做定语通常表时的是：1，规律性的（特别是法律条文）内容 2，多次的，重复性的内容，我认为forming用在这里不太合适，

其次，对于过去时态的认定，在OG里讲过几次，建议楼主找找看：大概意思是说，一个过去完成时的动作应该发生在另一个已经明确的过去式动作之前，并截止到该过去是动作结束。

回到本题，有一个明确的过去式动作journeyed,但仔细体会就可发现 visited实际上和journeyed是同时发生的，而不是说visited在journeyed之前开始，到journeyed发生时结束。所以，这里用过去完成时是不合时的。

此句我誤解讀為他們再次遊歷,所以應用完成式,現在仔細看了一次,是同時發生的...

另外,仍有疑問的是..(這點可能是我句意判斷上的不理解了)

journals不是都普遍為新聞報導嗎?所以為客觀性的,用forming來修飾

用 that formed...來修飾不是就指特定的journals而已(我是參考OG234的解釋)
