这个指代的区分！太难了！求救！！

fossils of the arm of a sloth 怎么怎么样，然后说made it the earliest mammal of the world. 这里的it og解释是介词宾语复杂结构不能指代sloth ，我想问一下实际上是不是it可以指代arm 或者 sloth所以产生歧义？还有就是it 不是核心指代那么it 难道是指代 the arm of a sloth?

最重要的一个问题还有！拜托大家帮我解释一下， a of b这个结构中 it 指代谁？

我的看法是如有更好的答案，就尽量避免it，they这样的指代；像你被这个it指代搞混了，说明指代产生了模糊，指代存在模糊就是一个很关键的语法错误。至于a of b的结构和指代的关系，这个视具体情况吧。

我查了OG13，只有两句是A of B结构的：

7.The intricate structure of the compound insect eye, with its hundreds of miniature eyes called ommatidia, helps explain why scientists have assumed that it evolved independently of the vertebrate eye.
It指的是 the compound insect eye

It指的是the conversational pace

似乎没有定论说it一定指代A or B，所以还是具体问题具体分析吧，理解为主。

一般来说，it／they的先行词只能是核心词，不能是介宾短语里的名次和所有格。这个题目里it只能指代sloth，不能是arm，因为这样就不合逻辑了。在介宾短语里，所以og里这么说。但这个规则并不是特别严格的。我估计同一个选项里可能还有其他的问题，楼主再看看。
另外选项是选最好的，也有可能这个选项其实错的不是很严重，只是说其他的选项更好更清楚。如果能感觉出来正确选项更清晰更合逻辑那就不用犹豫了。
