嘿嘿，知道这个题已经讨论过了，可我还是有些疑问！第一：E选项是正确答案，但是the chemical irritant做什么成分呢？我看有人说是metabolize and render的宾语。那么这句话什么意思？作宾语怎么还用comma隔开了？。第二：the chemical是指的enzyme吗？做enzymes的概括性同位语（这是我意淫的）。第三：Og解释A项the chemical that is irritating it为什么说语法上正确？难道it指代什么吗？。 5555~真心期待有人能回答我。这些问题折磨死啦！！

第一，attempt to metabolize, or render harmless, the chemical irritant这句如果变成正常的形式就是attempt to metabolize the chemical irritant ， or render the chemical irritant harmless。这句相信LZ可以看懂了吧。
第二，the chemical和enzyme是两回事情，完全和同位语没关系，而且形式上也不对，（LZ可以看看有关同位语的知识）。这里从句 that are the organism’s attempt to metabolize, or render harmless, the chemical irritant整个就是在修饰enzyme。
第三，A选项the chemical that is irritating it的确在形式上没什么错误，标准的定语从句，it指代the organism。

嗯，谢谢，那么既然the chemical irritant是metabolize和render的宾语，为什么用逗号隔开，而且放在了最后面呢？

那么如果说it 指代the organism，那正确选项E，the chemical irritant不用强调它刺激的是organism吗？5555~谢谢，希望你帮我解惑····

这是省略啊，既然动词对应的宾语一样就可以这样省略啊，另外the chemical irritant没什么必要特意强调刺激organism，那样就是繁琐了。

想问一下~enzymes后面that引导的是定语从句吗？that 指代enzymes在从句中做主语？那从句的整句话就变成 enzymes are the organism’s trying to metabolize the chemical, or render the chemical harmless？好像不太通顺的样子~~~请NN解答~谢谢~~

试试看换掉trying，变成 enzymes are the organism's attempt to metabolize the chemical, or render the chemical harmless 就觉得通了吧？

lz之前的问题我还没弄清楚：attempt to metabolize, or render harmless, the chemical irritant. 这里the chemical irritant 为什么可以放在逗号后？这样的用法有专门讨论过吗？如果有，请问是否有其他例子。
