100. (黄金80题) A nation must maintain a highly competitive educational system — a system in which students compete among themselves and against students from other countries — to ensure its own economic success. |
Position: Agree
1. When students compete among themselves, they tend to be more assiduous in study, and try their best to learn more to be excellent. EX Beijing No.4 High School is reputed to be the best high school in Beijing. And this school contributes its brilliant achievement to the competitive system. By selecting best students and making them compete,No. 4 High School is able to send a big proportion of its graduates to laceName w:st="on">TsinghualaceName> laceType w:st="on">UniversitylaceType> or laceName w:st="on">PekinglaceName> laceType w:st="on">UniversitylaceType>.
2. By introducing competition from other countries, a nation tends to learn more and has more reflection on themselves as well. EX Australia accepted numerous Chinese students recent years. And these Chinese students bring profound thought to this country. This circumstance is clearly verified in a recent published paper of E.G. Whitlam, the Chairman of Australia-China Council. In this article Whitlam cites the successfulness of culture heritage of China, which helps China to resist westernization. And this westernization is actually undermining Australian traditions.
3.Admittedly exceeding competition is harmful to students. Due to competition pressure, in China children suffer great stress and some of them have to join some holiday education program to prepare for the coming semester.
