问题在于RATHER THAN的考察重点（不同于MORE THAN， AS...AS等）在于对称，而非简化指代。

完整的应该是：

TO A MINIMUM OF SEVEN DAYS RATHER THAN TO A MINIMUM OF FOURTEENDAYS

或者：

TO A MINIMUM OF SEVEN DAYS RATHER THAN FOURTEEN （DAYS）

其前后应该完全一致。

这题是考对于简洁原理的理解。按ETS的说法，只要去掉之后不影响意思的理解，没有语法错误的情况下，可简洁就简洁。

对于这道题目，就象wyks mm说的那样，补充完整的那两种说法也是可以的，但是既便是把这两种说法放在选项中，最好也还是选省略的”简洁“说法。

所以用rather than的時候，就不能用 that 來代替先前出現過的N ?
For example:
The population in A is more than that in B.
The number of people in A is as many as that in B.
照你所說,這是 more than , as...as 的結構,所以可以用簡化指代..

喜欢这个解释,另外rather than不是比较,that 指代前面的minimum不对
