报美国商学院PHD，一定要有工作经验吗

My answer is “no”. Ph. D. only focuses on research. Adcom primarily looks for smart candidates with great research potential. I know so many students getting into Ph. d. programs in b-schools right after getting their undergraduate degrees. At the same time, so many other applicants are dinged although they have very impressive working experience. Working experience may be critical for your admission into very top MBA programs. But its role in Ph. D. application is very limited.        In my opinions, if you have very good research experience, strong letters, working experience is not important at all. However, given all your credentials are equal or similar as those of other final candidates, having work experience may help your chance a bit if your competitors do not have any. Please note the prerequisite is that you could show your strong research experience and potential. This is always the key point for your application.
