Do you agree or disagree that drivers should pay a certain amount of fee to be permitted to drive out in traffic in peak traffic hours.
Currently, the issue concerned about the fee to be permitted to drive out in peak traffic hours which is widely discussed into a point where contemplation has been aroused. To large extent, I definitely object and reckon it as a narrow and distorted view.
Admittedly, it is a great problem for all the big cities all around the world that traffic jam has become a issue we cannot avoid and several measures are sure to be set out. Among them, the drivers are charged the fees of driving out during the peak hours can make a difference. As we all know, if drivers are charged fees, they are not willing to spend the money when they can not in a hurry or they have another alternative, which is bound to reduce the traffic.
However, it is not an apropriate solution to the issue. It is our belief that everyone has a right to driving out whenever they can and the road is public to everyone. Thus, there is no reason for the government to charge the fee of driving out just for the heavy traffic jam. What the governmet can do is to try asking the citizens to reduce driving out when unnesessay but not to force to pay the fee. And subjectively speaking, if someone lives far from his workplace and he has to drive to work in the peak hour, it is obviously that he should not be charged the fee since it is a basical need for him.
Moreover, although the traffic fee may play an important role in reducing the traffic, it is not a long-term solution. What the government should do is to try hard to develop the public transportation, such as bus and subway. Only the public transportation can satisfy ordinary people's need can they reduce driving to work. Besides, it is also a good idea to widen the roads and build some new roads to make more cars be driven on. Since there are some people who are far away from the workplace and they have to drive to work in order to save more time, to widen the roads will be a good method for them.
In a word, I do not think it a good way to just charge the fee. In my opinion, it is improving the public transportation and increasing the capacity of the roads can solve the problem perfectly.
