答案是D, 但是我觉得是C. 请指点.

还是不太明白, "因为我碰到的人 have one or the other of these qualities，故D的情况不存在. " 为什么? 我觉得D就是这句话的另一种表述.

"the people I meet have one or the other of these qualities but not both."

the sentence means:

among the pople i meet, some are intelligent and others are wise, though none of them are both intelligent and wise.
