求助考友们一个问题，纠结了好久的，关于白勇语法as或than引导比较从句中的省略原则----from 白勇语法： 1.比较从句谓语与主句谓语相同，可用do，did，does代替。 2. 比较从句的主语和谓语与主句的主语和谓语相同时，可以全部省去，常常保留做状语的介词短语或状语从句。
prep08上面有个讲解的例题，这个句子我感觉是主语谓语都是相同的，如果按照第2点的话，为什么只省略了than后面的few people，而不省略谓语did呢？
如果点1理解我感觉就说的通了，可是这样两点岂不是矛盾了么？
As a result of the continuingdecline in the birth rate,[fewer people] will enter the labor force [in the 1980’s] than (few people省略)did [in the 1960’sand 1970’s], a twenty-yearperiod during which people born after the war swelled the ranks of workers.
