答案是B, 这里一定要用过去完成时吗？一般过去时可以吗？因为before已经很好地说明了两件事的先后顺序，所以我认为没有必要用过去完成时啊！不是说过去完成时不要轻易使用吗？以下是Manhattan中P108-P109关于过去完成时的解释，作为我想法的佐证。请大家指教！！！！

We already know that LOCKED happens before LEFT because of the word BEFORE. The words BEFORE and AFTER indicate the sequence of events clearly and emphatically enough to make the use of the Past Perfect unneccessary.

说实话我觉得用不用完成时都可以~倒是觉得previous to~~when那里有点问题

谢谢解答！我也认为没有必要使用过去完成时。但是PREP08语法笔记上说此题考点就是时态问题，我晕啊！我觉得这题完全可以通过语义来判断，时态并非作出判断的决定性因素。
