要求：Rewrite each of the following sentences more concisely Iustify the changes you make, identifying
the specific concision issue at work.

题目：Although most consumers are suspicious of such offers, Colin is desirous of purchasing the two-for-one vacation package.

解释: The verb wants is preferable to is desirous of according to V-A-N pattern 5.. Notice, however, that you should NOT change are suspicious of to the verb suspect, because comsumers suspect such offers is unidiomatic (suspect vs. are suspicious of , like lack vs. are lacking in, one of the rare exceptions to V-A-N pattern 3..)

我的问题是：为什么解释里说 suspect such offers 不符合语言习惯？包括 be suspicious of 改成suspect 以及be lacking in 改成lack都是不行的？
