请教OG上一道状语从句省略的“特例”题目

首先，之所以说这道题目是特例，是因为以prep08语法笔记关于状语从句的省略来说的，说法如下：
状语从句的省略：
1）两点省略要求：
第一点是毫无疑问的：逻辑主语等于句子主语
第二点也是必须的：从句的谓语必需是be（没要求主句谓语也必需是be！换句话说状从的省略可以看成是省略了一个be），且从句主语和谓语要么同省，要么同留。

然后看 OG上这道题（12th 86)
The results of the company’s cost-cutting measures areevident in its profits, which increased 5 percent during the first 3 monthsof this year after it fell over the last two years.

(A) which increased 5percent during the first 3 months of this year after it fell

(B) which had increased5 percent during the first 3 months of this year after it had fallen

(C) which have increased5 percent during the first 3 months of this year after falling

(D) with a 5 percentincrease during the first 3 months of this year after falling

(E) with a 5 percentincrease during the first 3 months of this year after having fallen
正确答案是 C

首先，我认为 prep上面这个说法至少是不全面的，因为如果按他这个说法， C就变成了 profits(which) have increased 5 % during the first 3months of this year after (the profits) are falling 而这句话正确还原应该是profits(which) have increased 5 % during the first 3months of this year after (the profits) had fallen （主动，所以省略成 falling)

因为有个"after"

I went home after finishing school.
I go home after finishing school.
I will go home after finishing school.

你发现了，甭管主句是什么时态，都是"after finishing school"。这是个规律——通常v-ing在时态上默认跟随主句时态。比如说这三句话，如果"finishing school"这个动作正常写的话，应该分别写成
After I finished school, I went home.

（这个句子也可以写成After I had finished school, I went home. 语法上两者都没问题，只是语言表达的侧重点不同。）

After I finish school, I go home.
After I finish school, I will go home. （这里照理说是"After I will finish school"，但将来时的惯例，大家知道的.....）

谢谢你的回答，那请问 prep关于状语从句的省略的第二点从句的谓语动词必须要是be 动词到底是必要的吗？

我这么认为的，我觉得LZ的举例和省略没什么关系。after falling over the last two years，在这里就是状语，而不是从句的省略。主语一致主动用Ving，所以笔记的总结应该没什么问题。

请问一下,未划线部分有个 over the last two years. 也是状语，难道 2个状语一起用不wordy吗？（如果after doing 也是状语的话）

我觉得这样就太牛角尖了，over the last two years在这里不是作为句子的状语，而是只单单对falling的修饰。wordy什么？如果去掉了over the last two years那这句话就狗屁不通了。
