关于推荐信的2个问题

请教：论坛的的同志说：如果写推荐信的老板不懂英文，应该让他写一封中文的推荐信，然后再附上一个an official translation。这个翻译件可不可以我找个人自己翻，然后请老板签字呢？还有是要签中文名字呢还是签拼音呢？

我昨天看了看michigan的申请指南，说

Transcripts for International Applicants If you attended a university outside of the United States, the University of Michigan Business School requires one copy of both your academic record and the diploma or other document indicating the date and  conferral of your degree. If the original language of the academic record and diploma is not English, a certified English translation must accompany the original document. A translation should be literal rather than interpretive. If a certified copy of the original transcript is submitted, it must be certified by the institution from which the degree was received. Documents notarized by a Notary Public are not acceptable. （不知道是不是个案）

我昨天又跟学校校办联系了一下，他们讲可以提供翻译，也可以本人翻译经校办审核无误后盖章，封好、加盖骑缝章，即OFFICIAL TRANSLATION.

一般的，向每个BS提供一个由学校封好的信封，其中包括中英文成绩单、学位证、毕业证各2份即可。

我最近有个体会是，学校的application instruction应当认真读一读，好多问题都涉及到了。

成绩单是一定要official translation 的。

但是推荐信无所谓。 我看过的要求比较多的是cornell。 他们的要求是翻译人也要签名的， 并且说明不能由被推荐人翻译的。

不过很多学校都不要official translation of the rec letters.  你只要提供翻译件和原件就可以了。 check with school.
