还有9天考试,之前就写过一篇Argument,作文没准备,想知道这水平考试大概能有几分,要申数学专业够用么?30分钟限时写的Accordingto information recently reported in the Eliottown Gazette, the number of peoplewho travel to Eliottown has increased significantly over the past severalyears. So far this year over 100,000 people have arrived on flights toEliottown's airport, compared with only 80,000 last year and 40,000 the yearbefore. Eliottown's train station has received more than 50,000 passengers thisyear, compared with less than 40,000 last year and 20,000 the year before.Clearly tourism in Eliottown has been increasing, thanks to the new CentralPark and Museum of Modern Art that opened last year. Therefore, the fundingfor the park and museum should be increased significantly.
According topassage, the author indicates that the increase in number of people who travelto Eliottown is due to the new Central Park and Museum of Modern Art, whichopened last year. In order to remain the increaseand attract more people, the government should increase the founding for thepark and museum. There are several flaws of the indication and the assertion is not accurate.
One of theassumption that author uses is people come to Eliottown are for purpose oftourism other than others such as business and visiting families and friends. This assumption is lack of reliable information and is not accurate. Sincethere is no introduction of what are the major businesses in the Eliottown andsurvey of why people come to the town, author cannot assume that people visitEliottown is major for tourism due to there are new park and museum built. Itis possible that there might be other new business or factories built in thetown during last several years that attract investors. The passage onlytalks about the new park and museum, which were built last year and does not mention any other parks, museum or places ofinterest that were already existed. Even if most of the people come Eliottownis on the purpose of tourism, it is not necessary to assume the new park andmuseum attract most of them. It is might due to the increasing advertisement ofthe town and other business strategy that make the town popular among people. The mainconclusion that author put in the passage is government should increasefounding for the park and museum in order to maintain the increase in number ofpeople visiting the town. However, increasing founding may not be necessarysince there is no information provided in the passage about the currentfounding for the park and museum. There is a possibility that the park andmuseum already have enough founding and the money that government have can beused for other financial sectors. Even if the park and museum don’t have enoughfounding, it is not reliable to assume that increasing founding would increasenumber of people visit the park and museum. There might be other moreattractive parks and museum than these ones that have more people visit everyyear. There might be other places that need government founding which canattract more people and increasing the financial position better than the newpark and museum. There is a logical mistake in the passage as well. It mentions that themuseum and park was only built last year however the number of people thatvisit the town has been increasing for two years. This indicates that thepopulation growth had existed before the building of the park and museum. Someother sectors of the town are attracting more people visit. Therefore theconclusion which says the reason for population increasing is the new park andmuseum made by author is not convincible. In conclusion, the passage does not provide enough and convincingevidences show that the government need to increase founding for the new parkand museum. |
