这是之前从CD上下载下来的题目，，，不清楚是哪里来的了，是什么比较题型难题汇总，，，好啦，看题！

46. The decisions of John Marshall, the fourth chief justice, have had a greater influence than any chief justice in history.
(A) than any chief justice in history
(B) historically than any other chief justice
(C) than have those of any chief justice in history ×？？？
(D) in history as any other chief justice has had
(E) than those of any other chief justice in history √

解析：C is wrong because the repetition of "have" is not necessary and idiomatically incorrect. The correct idiom for this comparison is "X has greater ___ than Y" not "X has greater ___ than has Y." In addition, C is also wrong because it is missing the word "other" in the fragment, "any chief justice." Why? Because without it, John Marshall himself could be included in that group because he was a chief justice after all. This would make the comparison also compare John Marshall with John Marshall and that makes no sense.

如果C选项里加了other呢？有have怎么看对不对呢？

而在另外一题中：

48. The guiding principles of the tax plan released by the Treasury Department could have even a greater significance for the economy than the particulars of the plan.
(A) even a greater significance for the economy than
(B) a significance that is even greater for the economy than
(C) even greater significance for the economy than have
(D) even greater significance for the economy than do √

C: [cannot use “have” here because it will indicate Have done sth. as perfect tense., which is not paralleled with “could do sth.”]

这里的do paralleled with “could do sth.

这两题为什么不一样呢？没想明白，求牛牛们给个解释啊，而且什么时候才能在than后面加这些动词呢？

同样的：

怎么说呢？有点像倒装的感脚啊

这题给的答案是E?为什么than后面是he不是him啊？为什么不选A？？因为A wordy 还是因为那个结尾的he??

这里在than后面的do又是指什么呢？

还有另外的不懂的题目也一起问下：

另外，不選A的原因在於he，link裏面有解答爲什麽要用he不能用him。

Meaning：JM的決定比歷史上其他公正的決定都有更大的影響。

注意了，如果僅僅看原句的話會很confused的，因為決定怎麼可以跟justice比較呢？所以按照平行原則可以推斷，justice那邊一定還缺了跟decisions相對等的東西，因而可以放著先看其他選項。看到C項的時候發現是真的有對等的，所以果斷排除AB。

根據比較級後面要加than可以排除D。剩下CE。

關於any和any other要注意，如果僅僅用any的話，those of any chief justice包含了JM的決定，those of any other chief justice就把JM的決定排除在外。因而選E。

【關於要不要補have的問題】

Helping verbs要不要補，關鍵在於會不會造成ambiguity！如果不補是不會造成ambiguity的，補了反而會wordy；但是不補會造成ambiguity的，補了就會使句子的意思更加清晰。這裡假如不補have的話，句子已經沒有其他noun會跟those比較，會把those誤解成賓語了，所以不需要補have。

48、
Meaning：稅收原則比計劃詳情對經濟有更大的影響。

（A）歧義。潛在理解：（1）原則對經濟的影響大於對計劃的影響；（2）原則對經濟的影響大於計劃對經濟的影響。這裡會產生歧義是因為由於沒有補充helping verb使得plan的地位突出，導致plan可能是跟for economy並列的，就是for economy vs. for plan，也有可能plan是跟principles並列的，但此時需要加上could/do來突出plan的主語地位。

（B）同上

（E）greater修飾的是significance，所以應該放在significance前面

【關於爲什麽要補helping verbs的問題】

這裡明顯如果不補的話就會導致A項兩個ambiguity。所以到底哪些結構會有ambiguity，哪些沒有，還是要具體問題具體分析。

這一題的結構蠻有趣的：

讀完句子，確定要比較的內容：the mistakes和the correct forms
然後因為是主語比較，爲了避免歧義應該加do。選C

pollutant可以是countable or uncountable。countable表示n種污染物/few表示種類變化，uncountable表示一種污染物/less表示某種污染物量的變化。

A be lacking in B，表示A缺乏B

63、
AB時態錯，simple past表示過去是這樣，現在已經不是了。
