Whereas lines of competition are clearly defined in the more established industries, in the Internet industry they are blurred and indistinct, as companies that compete one day may be partners the next.

Whereas lines of competition are clearly defined in the more established industries, in the Internet industry they are blurred and indistinct, as companies that compete
Although the lines of competition are clearly defined in industries that are more established, they are blurred and indistinct in the Internet industry, as competing companies
答案是第二个,第一句中用in the Internet industry开头觉得不对,不够工整。但是感觉第二句最后competing companies one day may be partners the next却没有第一句companies that compete one day may be partners the next来的工整,请问怎么判断。是因为as后面要跟句子,that后面也必须跟句子所以第一句错误么?

工整不工整并不是排除选项绝对原则,还是要依靠grammar+meaning之后,在考虑整体结构是否公正好看。

具体来看AB相比:首先,Athe more established industries,这种表达会造成“more (established industries)" 还是" (more established) industries" 的歧义,而B 改成 industries that are more established 则避免了歧义修饰;其次,B 选项的 competing companies one day may be partners the next 形式上真没觉得不工整:competing companies \one day (may be) partners\the next ,而且companies that compete没有 competing company简洁,adj毕竟简洁于从句。
最后,LZ可以将句子简化:Although+S+be adj+in介短, pron+be adj+in介短, as... 这结构不能说是不工整吧。亲

但是beatthegmat.com上有instructor表示选A...

Note that it's not just "in more established industries" - there's an article "the" before the noun phrase (in the more established industries), which refers to the noun "industries", leaving the "more established" as adjectives.
If the article weren't there, then your alternative interpretation of "in more industries" would've been possible, but still unlikely. The rule in noun phrases is that each modifier (adjective/adverb) modifies the next word following it. If you want to indicate that two adjectives both modify the same noun at the end of the phrase, you need to separate the adjectives with commas, indicating that both refer to the noun rather than the next word:

e.g. He is an old, tired man

解释好多, 好混乱..

这题还是争议题,知道考点就得了,毕竟gwd是没有OA的,都是各抒己见,归根结底就是split点,一在the more established industries是否表达歧义,二在前后的两组平行比较结构是否清晰对称,两个句子的逻辑含义我觉得都没问题,就是表达谁的更好,还是保留想法吧我选择B
