Emily Dickinson's letters to Susan Huntington Dickinson were written over a period beginning a few years before Susan's marriage to Emily's brother and ending shortly before Emily's death in 1886, outnumbering her letters to anyone else.

此题OG给出的正确答案是（E）：
(E) Dickinson, which were written over a period beginning a few years before Susan's marriage to Emily's brother and ending shortly before Emily's death in 1886, outnumber

我觉得在E中, which 从句是一个noun modifier，它违反了就近原则。

请问你怎么看这个问题？

只有who.whom才能指代人

which肯定是指代letter的

跟据这篇帖子的说法，如果被noun modifier修饰的名词还带有一个preposition phrase, 而且这个preposition phrase只能放在名词之后，那么在这种特殊情况下noun modifier可以稍稍远离它所修饰的名词（相隔一个preposition phrase的距离）。

是的，which能够跳跃修饰，在 n.1+preposition+n.2, which….. 这种结构中，which优先指代n.2，但如果which和n2单复不一致的话，则可以指代n.1。这里面were televised只能和复数hearings搭配上
