With the society developing faster and faster, the knowledge of people is becoming abundant. But it has brought about some debates on the phenomenon. Some people argue that it is surely a wonderful progress on our social development. However, other people refuse, and they hold the point that when people know things better, the demand of people will also become bigger, which makes things more mysterious and complex.
First I want to say that these two kinds of arguments both have their sense. And we should admit that things people know are much more than those people know decade ago. For example, in old days, humans believed that the earth was the center of the solar system, and all the planets orbited around the earth, including the sun. But it has been outdated nowadays. What’s more, thousands of years ago, old people held the point that the earth is flat. Today we all know that our earth is almost a sphere. So from the examples above, we could see that people know things better with time passing by.
However, other people maintain the point that when people know things better, the demand of people will surely become bigger, making things more complex, and this argument is also meaningful. For example, in the realm of physics, scientists only know some easy phenomenon thousands of years ago. Then people would like to explain these phenomenon, some great physicists, like Newton and Einstein, set up their theories. But scientists’ eager for the world will never disappear, so the universe is becoming more and more complex and mysterious, which makes people harder and harder to understand the world they are living in.
Maybe the two arguments seem opposite to each other, however, as far as I am concerned, the two are so much relevant. With our human civilization develops faster and faster, people’s knowledge are becoming more and more abundant. But human beings are just a kind of animal whose demand will last forever. So the more people know, the more people would like to know. Everything in the world is becoming more and more clear, and there may be one day in which people will take off the veil of the universe.
From the things above, we could draw a conclusion that with our knowledge become large, things become more and more complex, and human social history has proved that people’s society is growing more and more complex. But nothing in our life is becoming more and more unclear, and one day people will be able to take off the veils of all the mysteries.
