承认年轻人应该追求当即的名声和承认，因为当下的这些成就会建立自信，并且当下的也是以后长远目标的基础
但是呐，年轻人不能总是着眼于当下的，要有宏大的目标，长远的目标是方向，引导着他去做眼下的事情，要是没有方向，那么做起来就会东一巴西一把没有重点，失去方向，迷茫。并且，长远的目标能帮助年轻人建立起更完善的人格，不贪图小利，这样的人是公司和国家所寻找的人，所以要鼓励年轻人追求长远的目标。

Whentalking about whether young people should pursue long term, realistic goals orto seek immediate fame and recognition, the author holds that they should chasethe long-term and realistic one. Surly, I agree with the author’s generalassertion to some extent. The long-term, realistic goals will guide the youngpeople to a more comprehensive destination and help them achieve more than justthe immediate fame and recognition. However, to pursue immediate fame andrecognition is nothing wrong and should not be disparaged upon. The immediateinterest does contradict with thelong-term goal for all the time. The author in this way overlooks other factorsthat determine the young people’s own good and make the assertion biased. Onbalance, my points of agreement and contention with the statement involve thefundamental and deep analysis as discussed below.
Admittedly, the assumption that theyoung people should focus on the long-term and realistic goals holds water inthat the long-term objective will guide the young people to where they reallywant instead of getting lost in this materialistic world. Usually, young peoplein their college or just take first job will feel confused about theirorientation, and this confusion easily cause them to be more passive and fearto choose among the opportunities. Thus the young are easily get distracted anddefeated. For example, suggest a young man just get a job in the firm and henow confronted a choice between whether to go to the marketing department orthe technical department; he doesn’t know which to choose simply because he didnot have a long-term objective for his career. This confusion and hesitationwill lead him distracted on his career path and could get success except a goodluck. However, once set up the long-term and realistic goal for their career,study or characteristic, they will be much more steadfast next time they facetradeoffs. In light of this, the long-term goals are the directions for theimmediate actions, if one doesn’t have a long-term objective, he may easily getlost and off course from their ideal path.
Furthermore, beside the directionthat the long-term objective could bring to the young people, the long-termgoals will also help them to build a more comprehensive characteristic. Focusingon the long-term goal help them to get rid of the greedy for small gains, andhelp them to obtain persistence and perseverance. To illustrate this, a youngpeople who have set up the long-term goal will clearly distinguish between thelong-term interest and the short-term interest, and they won’t let theshort-term interest blind their eyes. Moreover, the failure in carrying out thelong-term goals will help them to build up the character of persistence andperseverance. Usually, those young people will have stronger executive powerand this is what a company or individual needed. Hence, it is quite evidentthat the long-term and realistic goals will help the young people to build up amore comprehensive characteristic and be more steadfast.
However, the immediate fame andrecognition is not against the long-term and realistic goal for all the time.Instead, they have much more beneficent than we thought. The young people wouldsometimes get depressed when facing the failure in carrying out long-term goals,and their confidence may get destroyed by the failure. Therefore, theshort-term interest cannot be omitted simply because they are small and immediate.An example to illustrate this is that the long-term achievements are actuallyconsists of many short-term achievements, one cannot purely pursue thelong-term goals and forget about the short ones. This method will definitely leadthe young people to nowhere. Therefore, the immediate fame and recognition willhelp the young people to build up confidence and also build the foundation towardstheir long-term goals.
With all this evidence, tis is clearthat the immediate fame and recognition is as important as long-term, realisticgoals in the way it contributes to the young people’s character and success. Therefore,I hold the point that the young people should pursue the long-term, realisticgoals and at the meanwhile integrate the immediate fame and recognitions. |
