University of Maryland College Park is
looking for English-Mandarin speaking program assistants/interpreters.
Job starts immediately.

Job Title:

Program Assistant/Interpreter

Responsibilities:

Include but not limited to:

-Conduct consecutive interpretation during lectures and meetings on or off
campus

-General office administrative tasks as assigned by the program coordinator

-Program detail and logistics follow up as directed by the program
coordinator

-Other tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Training program topics are mostly on, but not limited to:

Public Administration, Social Science, Humanities, Business, Higher
Education, Law, Environmental Policies, Technology Industry Development.

Qualifications:

-This position does not have H1B sponsorship, Qualified candidates who are
on OPT are also encouraged to apply.

-Outstanding ability of English-Chinese in/out of class consecutive
interpretation;

-Outstanding Communication skills in both Chinese and English;

-Ideal Candidate must be comfortable with facilitating teaching in a
professional setting, and be willing to work with both Chinese and American
professionals;

-Preferred academic or professional background: Law, English, Public Policy,
Social Sciences, Business, Finance, Economics, Communication, Education;

-driver’s license a plus.

Work Schedule:

40 hours per week; Most works fall on 9am-5pm schedule, some weekend and
evening hours might be needed.
