简单挂钩的弊端三， 老师的创新意识会受限，导致教学质量下降，并且长此已久， 国家创新素质降低。

Should teachers’ salaries be based on theirstudents’ academic performance? The speak claims so and I am partly agree withthe speaker’s assertion.
From the school’s point of view, we cansurely use this method to encourage as well as supervisor the teachers’performance in teaching. The students’ scores in examination, the ranking inthe national competition, also the proportion of students entering higher gradecould take into consideration of students’ academic performance which is revealin some extent to teachers’ abilities. At this level it seems very direct thatteachers’ salaried based on students’ academic performance is plausibility. Butin deep discussion, we could find some disadvantages.
The primary disadvantage for the speaker’sposition is that in order to render students gain higher scores in examinationand make school gain higher graduation rate which is related to their salaries,teachers may ignore the essence of cultivating. In the first place, if theyadopt this for target, then teachers will focus the teaching key points on thehigh scores, high ranking and high graduation rates, which is detrimental tothe development of educations. In the second place, in order to obtain highsalaries under this policy, teachers would not be responsible for what theyshould do and what they need do. Ignoring the overall quality of students, thusstudents would lack the ability of to think independent, to work practical andto think creative. Meanwhile, education is a business born not only passing onknowledge but also cultivating morality. otherwise, the shape of moralsentiment of students would be undermined.
Another disadvantage is that it flies onthe face of education nature. Teachers pursuing students’ high scores and studyperformance in the short term rather than students overall quality would bepartially to students. In this processing, teachers could not acknowledge allthe students’ personality and characteristic, ignoring some gifted students whohave potential intelligence in mathematical or physical. Furthermore, studentscome to school learning knowledge but also to learn how to study and how to bea qualified individual.
A third disadvantage in this recommendationis that would constrain the teachers’ creativity in cultivation. At this rate,all teachers have the same purpose and teaching the same matters on the samesubject, all students learned is the same from the curriculum. Teachers losingtheir unique while students losing their creation. What’s more, in the longterm, it will deter the national quality and innovation ability.
Admittedly, the recommendation have itdisadvantages, we could take it into consideration while appraise a teacher’sabilities. However, we should make more synthesis, for example, schools holdingteaching competitions to test teachers’ teaching abilities, including whetherit is creation, whether the style is prevailing, as well as the illustrateexplicitly. Moreover, through a survey from the students who have graduate forone or two decades and achieved success, to estimate teachers’ quality.
In sum, the speaker’s recommendation is toosimple. It’s unwise to determine teachers’ salaries through students’ academicperformance, schools should make an all-sides appraise system. Only in this waycould not only stimulate teachers’ teaching enthusiastic but also encouragestudents to learn with heart and creation. |
