Well a lot will depend on your GMAT, otherwise you seem to have a nice solid career up until now,a nd if you get the GMAT score you expect, you should be able to build a strong profile. The thing you really need to iron out though is your goals. Right now there is something that doesn't make sense about them. You have a PhD in engineering, yet want to go back to school maybe for two full years to go into finance. Okay it could work, but as a story it becomes hard to build. What about all your engineering knowledge experience? Whatever the case is, the thing to think about most is how you can present the most logical story which will lead you from your past to your future, logically taking you through an MBA. With a good story there, a passionate application, and a solid GMAT, you can certainly have hopes at top schools. Jon Frank Founder -- by 会员 JonFrank (2012/5/11 14:51:14)
Jon,
Thank you for your reply and information. Actually a substantial amount of my current work experience is related to corporate finance and instead of a PhD degree I only have a B.Eng degree and MS degree in Finance. But I think you are absolutely right that I should clarify my motivation more clearly for entering the business school and depict my career goal to the admission offices. Thank you again for your advices and I think I may need your further help when I start to prepare my application materials. |
