Issue 43:
The increasingly rapid pace of life today causes more problems than it solves.
Write a response in which you discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the statement and explain your reasoning for the position you take. In developing and supporting your position, you should consider ways in which the statement might or might not hold true and explain how these considerations shape your position. ======================================================================================== 字数 536 ======================================================================================= 第一篇issue,完全不会写,大家帮忙看看吧,自己觉得问题比较大。。。。。。谢谢了
Does the increasingly rapid pace of life cause more problems than it solves? I don't think so. From my perspective, although there are many problems brought by the modernization, difficulties solved by the burgeoning technology are even more conspicuous and inspiring. For the examples of our every day's commuting, using of nuclear power and disease control, we can easily achieve the argument same as mine.
Our commuting by cars or buses everyday gives a vivid example that shapes my position. As we all know that car exhaust emission problem is much more concerned by each country in the world, and as a result, global warming is becoming more and more serious and it is truly affecting the global climate. However, we have to also admit that cars are really expedient to our life. Without cars, our going to work or shopping in markets will annoy us a lot. Although some people may argue that tragedies are happening to us these years causing from global warming, I have to say that many political leaders and scientists are concentrating on solving this problem and new technologies, say, electronic cars, polar-powered cars and even nuclear cars are around the corner. This simple global warming issue will be solve by new technologies.
Another concern about nuclear power is ruining the world, as many people assert. Things like the nuclear leak had happened more than once in the history, and atomic bombs had led to disasters in Japan at the end of the World War II. Everyone has to admit that those things happened, nevertheless, nuclear is carrying or will bring a lot of benefits to the people all around the world. As the lack of energy in the world has caused wars or conflicts in the world, some highly-efficiently powers have to replace petrol or coals. Imagine this, if people all around the world become amishes, and all of us cut down trees to make fire, the world will be in the dilemma that forests will diminish and even the oxygen may decrease, which will make people impossible to live. To avoiding this scaring situation, we have to research in alternative energies, especially nuclear energy, which has been proved infinite by the equation of Einstein.
In addition, disease control may provide even more convincing evidence for us. Medical research in virus can provide efficient cure for many diseases, while the researching progress is also a selecting progress that can make the virus more difficult to kill. A lively example of SARS in the last decade can evidently show us both the advantages and disadvantages for us. Admittedly, SARS is highly possible that it's a result of virus' genic mutation, but SARS is also conquered by humans using the most advanced medical technology. And furthermore, this hard period makes humans more rigorous than ever when facing another new kind of virus. In this way, technology solves more problems than it causes.
To sum up, technology is no doubt one thing we have to pursue forever. With a highly advanced technology, not only problems like global warming or nuclear frets can be solved, much expediency can be brought to us which will build a brighter future.
======================================================================================= 还想请教一个问题,就是issue里每段的中心perspective可以怎么确定啊?好像可以把大的话题分为几类,然后逐一讨论,是吗?还有什么别的方式吗? |
