49 Claim: We can usually learn much more from people whose views we share than from those whose views contradict our own.
Reason: Disagreement can cause stress and inhibit learning.
Write a response in which you discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the claim and the reason on which that claim is based.
We can usually learn much more from people whose views we share than from those whose views contradict our own(略举其他因素)
3、合:他人意见是否会影响学习取决于个人不同情况(举出其它因素)
Building upon the reason that disagreement can induce stress and inhibit learning, the author claims that it is much more we can learn from people who share the similar views with us than whose views are converse against ours.In my mind, however, this opinion needs more insightful discussion.
Firstly, assent can inspire a person to learn while dissent may sometimes impede this enthusiasm. If someone agrees with your position,he will support you and share with you his similar points and advice. As you feel invigorated,it can become easier to accept his suggestion, with which you can obtain confidence to make progress, then you will find more knowledge is in your brain.
On the contrary,if others hold the opinion that contradict yours, you are prone to feel puzzled, considering whether I or he is wrong. If you don't handle such situation well, negative emotions can dominant your brain and later you will find it discouraged to go far.As we are all creatures full of emotions, such different feelings can affect our motive to learn.
Admittedly, disagreement can cause some influences on our study, however,it's not proper to infer that under such condition we will learn less than the opposite situation. As the reason, there is no exact connection between disagreement and the stress inhibiting learning. There are mounts of celebrated persons whose access to success is rife with drawback.Just take the famous biologist Darwin for example. When he was young,he found his interest in observing different kinds of animals and plants, though his father felt angry and intervened his behavior by sending him to study theology. But Darwin didn't give up his dream and reversely was absorbed in this field.Later year when he pronounced his claim about the evolution,it has become disputed since then.As we can see,Darwin confronted many disagreement but such obstacle didn't impede his step to learn, which confirm that dissent sometimes can't have the power to stop our learning.
Given that disagreement can inhibit learning to some degree,it's still not cogent to draw the final claim. In order to reach this conclusion,we can't omit other factors apart from dissent such as the person's interest,or his talent. So whether others share with his views or not,it's not a decisive reason for the result of learning.
In sum,as all the reasons presented above,my view toward this claim is that whether other peoples' opinion can influence a learner varies from person to person.Someone who is persistent can stick to his position whatever others say while a opposite person may tend to oscillate, which means that different temper can also impact one's learning. Moreover, the circumstance in which a person is learning can meanwhile influence his study. While it's easy to learn in a silent place,it's not easy to calm down to learn when it's noisy around.
There are no two men who are exactly the same,so the result that the influence of others' agreement or disagreement on them should be considered individually.
