Should countries provide financial support to the arts? Many people are favor of it, arguing that countries’ supporting the arts will help the arts always be flourish. But others disagree, thinking that it will destroy the pure arts. Both of the two ideas are meaningful, however, as far as I am concerned, I would hold the point that countries should give financial support to the arts.
As we all know, the longer a n excellent work of art exists, the more valuable it will be. So that is why antiques all have such high price. But without financial support, how can these works still exist from past to today? Admittedly, some wealthy families would like to keep some of those great works as collections, and left these works to the next generation. However, in this way can only save few works, and a great number of the works will be ruined or even disappear. So what is a more efficient way? It is countries that could provide a lot of money to protect the works from being ruined. Also countries could collect the works which spread to the folks, avoiding missing them.
What’s more, artists need financial support, too. Some gifted artists died at an early age because of poverty, for example, Mozart, Van Golf , and so on. They can not even earn enough money to maintain their daily life, because not all the people could be able to appreciate these artists' masterpieces. And under this situation, if countries can not support their composition, the society will surely loose a great artist.
Also, the countries could constitute some galleries and theatres. Article works can enrich people’s daily life and give citizens more happiness. The works can also help children to study about the history and broaden their vision. By building up galleries and theatres, people will have more opportunities to appreciate the works of arts, so all of these relies on countries.
Surely it is necessary for countries to give financial support to the art. However, countries should not provide too much support to it. On the other word, countries should not limit the space of arts’ development. Countries are supposed to give artists free space and time to compose their works. What is more important, some excellent works can not be measured in terms of money. If countries put the labels on the works and means these works are on sale, it will threaten the integrity of the art.
From all the reasons above, It is clear that countries should provide financial support to the arts, which is very necessary. But the countries can not limit the creation of the art works, and they should never measure a masterpiece with money, which ruins the integrity of the art.
