Recently, A friend receive a formal interview by face-to-face. He wants to do short presentation about his research proposal by PPT. However, he still do not know whether it is suitable or not to use this aggressive style and send an email to the secretary to ask for preparing computer and projector. I guess he want to live a good impression to the interviewer(professor) and add more opportunity to success.

Hope you can share your previous experience and precious suggestions.

Please don't. The purpose of a face-to-face interview is getting to know who you are, not what you have done. Unless you have done researches that can REALLY impress the profs, pitching it with a PPT presentation will for sure blow it.
