“It is unrealistic to expect individual nations to make, independently, the sacrifices necessary to conserve energy. International leadership and worldwide cooperation are essential if we expect to protect the world’s energy resources for future generations.” Discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the opinion stated above. Since the time when sustainable development was come up with, people began to pay a lot more attention on the preserve of national resources, especially the energy reources. Because of the increasing concumption of energy resources and their non-renewable feature, how to protect energy resources effeciently is becoming a popular and important topic. Many nations are trying hard to protect their resources for future generations. For example, Japan imports large amounts of natural gas from other countries to condensate it and bury it under the sea, so that their offsprings still have energy resources to use. However, I think all these efforts are quite limited and only through international leadership and worldwide cooperation, can we preserve these resources to the greatest extend. Individual nations are not going to sacrifice their own interests to satisfy the whole world’s need. The fast economic development is the primary goal of Chinese government. As most of the huge profits comes from the secondary industry instead of the third industry in other European countries, China relies a lot on the consumption of energy sources. Although the government knows clearly this current economic develoment model wastes large quantities of energy resources and will only do harm to our future generations, it won’t try to slow down the high rate of development. Therefore, if we hope that individual countries will try their best to protect the energy, it definitely won’t work out. Even Japan decides to bury the natural gas under the sea for their own benefits due to the fact that Japan is quite lack of natural resources. However whenever the consumption of energy brings more benefits compared to the protection, they will stop doing it. What’s more, international leadership and world cooperation obviously help us preserve the eenergy resources more effectively. OPEC is good example about this. OPEC stands for Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries. It aims to keep the price of oil stable to protect these petroleum exporting countries’ interests. By doing this, it in fact leads to the longterm exploitation of oil, which means a good protection of oil from wasting too quickly. Without this organiztion, the individual oil exporting country will sell as much oil as other countries need to make money. The oil maybe run out easily. Besides, without a world organization to help regulate the price, it will cause cut-throat competition which certainly hurts the oil market and does no good to the protection of oil. Thus international leadership and world cooperation help preserve the energy by regulating certain rules among a chaos market. As the energy reources become less and less, we need to consider seriously about the protection of them. Among all these measures, I think the best one is to found some world organizations to make certain rules to regulate the individual countries’ behaviour and monitor the actions of them. We need to promote the idea of protecting energy among the mass. When everyone knows the importance of this and really protects the energy in daily life, we will need no worry about the exhaustion of energy. 作文里的想法主要是借鉴以前的提纲,挺汗颜的,自己完全没什么好想法 |
