or, in contrary, it may get buried..... when professors meet once a week or twice a month for admission review, the chance that they are passionate in reading diversified personal statements is relatively remote. they wanna see sth new and novel, yet they intend to see your ability to address your points in an academic manner.
with the above said, you may either get killed easily by writing up sth out of your own mind rather than following requirements, or earn some attention that profs wanna know about more you.
btw, if the length of your writing exceeds the limit and you submit your PS on-line, it is possible that the admission stuff/secretary only prints out the pages under regulated length. so, i would strongly urge you contact the admission stuff/secretary or phd coordinator for a clarification before you rush into on-line submission. |
