by the way, 如果有绿卡回国可以拿global pay, 薪水很高的，我们部门就有，报销的number都是列在外籍员工那的。

It is a big plus for sure. Many companies will list U.S Citizen or permanent resident as a requirment when they come to school to hire. Please make sure to include the fact in his resume!
