as limiting as这个引导的后面的是个什么成分呢？我看着很别扭。

想请问Whatever gender differences are present，这句是做什么成分？whatever这个词的用法是？
我对此句话的理解是：无论性别的差别是什么，都会不自觉的体现在任何场合。不知道对不对？
