求助！OG12-94 平行问题

同意楼上的楼上，delay有两个意思：（1）当用作单数不可数时，一般是表示“延误的时间”，（2）当用作复数可数时，一般是表示“延误，耽搁”的情况。
B中55 percent more delay，delay没有加s，很容易让人误解为是延误的时间多了55%
相比之下a 55 percent increase in delays就清晰多了。

当时做这题时也错选B了，觉得B更简洁，想了好久才想通的。请牛牛赐教~~

好像GMAT里有more的时候一定要有than 因为是比较
但如果改成increase就不存在比较了

答案说全部都是平行的，但是从句子意思上看，总觉得act 和sound是二级平行的，与defending和scouting不是同一个层次吧？请教各位～～

我偏向于B选项耶
因为分析了这句话，就是说这个residents take on different duties,
包括4种，defend the entrance,act as sentinels, sound a warning and scout ouside.
逻辑上就是平行的概念，所以形式应该平行，请斧正！

可数名词：延误的时间
不可数名词：延误，耽搁
本题“55 percent more delay”或者“55 percent more delays”都有两种意思：
1、多了55%的航班延误了；
2、飞机延误的时间增加了55%。
所以A,B都是unclear的答案。【以下仅供参考，求拍砖：】
可数名词表示具体delay的时间，而不可数就类似与抽象概念。
此题已经提到了“55%”，那么肯定是具体概念，应该取delay的可数形式。

个人观点认为根据delay的解释（我觉得看英文的解释更容易帮助我们理解）：[C] amount of time for which sb/sth is delayed
[U] a situation in which sth does not happen when it should; the act of delaying
所以这里只能使用delays而不能使用delay的不可数形式。

如果应该用delay的可数形式的话，为什么A选项 "55 percent more delays is not clear"?
OG的解释是不是暗示应按从more的修饰来判断？

delay做可数名词时意思是“a period of time when sb/sth has to wait because of a problem that makes sth slow or late”核心词是a period of time，并不是说时间的长短，而是说period的个数。
