第一个 one of its employees commits a crime的意思是很多员工中的一个犯罪，one of its employees commit a crime的意思是所有犯了罪的员工中的一个
第二个用are的话后面的东西修饰satellites 用is后面的东西修饰 AM-1

不知道说的对不对。。。

我把第一题的关于one的用法补充一下
在白勇语法中他是这么讲的（ony/but) one of 复数名词+that verb（复）
the (only) one of 复数名词+that verb（单）
这里的one of its employee 当作A prep.B 来理解。

第二个That后面的句子是做statelite的同谓语，是修饰statelites的 .

顶一下求NN详解一下还是要用意思来判断？？但是第二题怎么用意思判断呢，好像都能解释通的

我觉得第二题不用意思判断的。
statellites 后面的that从句（essential modifier）明显是就近修饰statellites这个整体的，它们都是这个effort的一部分，并不仅仅AM-1是这个计划的一部分，所以显然是用are.
这句话如果断句，是这样的：
Twenty-two feet long and 10 feet in diameter, the AM-1 is one of the many new satellites that are part of a 15-year effort to subject the interactions of Earth’s atmosphere, ocean, and land surfaces.
后面的部分只修饰statellites。

而楼主的第一个例子，one of its employees 整体作为主语是不可分割的，而A OF B结构的核心词是one, 所以后面commits 所遵循的主谓一致必然是跟one这个单数一致的

第一题是介词结构限制one，所以singular
one（of its employees）
第二题 that引导限制性定语从句，只能修饰最近的satellites，必须是plural

第二题有个问题： that修饰能不能越过动词 are，请问这里可以用这个点来排除么？
