答案选A，我选B

B选项symbolizing...直接修饰前面的名词land,亦能简明的表达原句的意思，为什么还要选Ａ呢？？

land不能主动symbolize 而是被symbolized

可是Ａ选项也不能体现出来是被动阿，难道是系动词的省略？
如果是省略的话，那么为什么能省略呢？

过去分词本身就体现出被动完成
现在分词体现出主动进行

哦，我明白了，是过去分词短语修饰前面的land对不。
原来总想着是定语从句，被to him给断开了呢。
