I submitted my application on Jan 4th for 2nd round. Got the on campus interview invitation at the end of Feb, but I could not make the trip to new haven, so Yale arranged the alumni interview for me at the end of Mar. However,as I know, for 2nd round application, Yale had send a batch interview interview on Jan 23. But I did not get it.

Hi alldkdk,

I am so thrilled that I got the interview invitation!! Though I cannot fly to New Haven for the interview, I hope they can arrange off-campus one nearby.

Could you please share your interview experiences? ex. what questions do they ask, how's the interview atmosphere? Is the interviewer alum or from the adcom.

I have heard that the interview even includes writing reasons for why Yale. Is that ture?

Congratulations...

I had an alumni interview. She is very nice and did not ask any formal so-called MBA interview questions. She just chat with me to ask my home town, hobbies, how to think the china business, the relationship between the government and business? We had a very nice chat over 2 hours. and she shared with a lot of her point of views of different things such as the business, the Iraq War and the difference of the top business school as well as her experience at Yale and Asia. So I was a listener at least for 1 hour during my interview. It was the most wonderful interview experience I ever had. I did not writing anything in my interview.
