Darden is not known as a "finance" school but do have excellent finance courses. That fact is reflected by Darden's presence on wall street. We are core schools for all major bulge brackets (Citi, Bank of America, Deutsche Bank, Credit Suisse, UBS, Morgan Stanley, JP Morgan and Goldman Sachs) and numerous elite middle market banks (Sagent Advisors, Robert Baird, Lazard Middle Market, Blackstone and etc). "Core school" meaning that all investment banks will come on campus to recruit and there are specific headcounts only for Darden students. This has been a tough season for investment banking recruiting but we, class of 2010, did well relative to our peer schools (univ mich, duke, yale and etc). An example of this is that we remained on the core list for Credit Suisse, UBS, Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley while other schools were cut. So far, out of 60 or so first years that wanted to do investment banking, sales and trading and private wealth management, 30 got summer offers at bulge brackets. I will go to Citi investment banking for the summer. Please feel free to contact me if you have further questions.
