agree! get the master in EE first. JD will get you to a totally different career.

Thank you for above comments.

Now I have some ad/offer so I can say one possibility:

I will finishe Chicago M.S in financial Mathematics in one year, followed by a Dartmouth Master of Engineering Management 1.5 years (I defer this ad, so I don't have to reapply). After 2.5 years, I will start to apply J.D.

Any ideas and comments?

I also have PhD EE fellowship position in Top20 Engineering schools (or even Top5), I just think it's too long to wait 5 years to do something I like (plus Chicago and Dartmouth are also Top5 within their major), though many people will say: solid, it's very solid after then! Plus I don't wanna learn Patent Law, I want to run...

One more question: 3 years for a J.D right?

P.S: I did not say EE master now because Berkeley rejected my MS EE application so if I wanna MS in EE, I may quit PhD meanwhile to get it.

if you can get a t14 offer, and you really want a legal career, you better do it early. another MS won't help you. if you cannot get into a t14, think twice before giving up your current academic track.

let's talk about this after you take lsat.

I think the shrewd thing to do is to get a degree in English instead spending another few years studying engineering if you want to practice law eventually.  With the level of English you have displayed here it's going to be hard for you to get a decent job in any law firm even if you were to obtain a PHD degree in rocket science.
