你是指WHICH在哪里省略？如果pipe tobacco, cured by age-old methods, yields an alkaline smoke中的 yields 前面补出的话，那么句子没有主语了，如果是在cured by age-old methods前面补出的话，我认为没有必要，因为前面是 cigarette tobacco, which yields an acid smoke没有必要在补出pipe tobacco, cured by age-old methods中的cured前面补出，因为which yields an acid smoke实际是与yields an alkaline smoke too irritating to be drawn into the lungs意思对应的，不是与cured by age-old methods意思对应。

A,B,E因为有they和their首先排除。
in 1970是过去具体时间点，所以用一般过去时态没有错。即使是与前面的 In 1980 有时态上的关系，也是过去的过去，用过去完成时态，不是用 has。
还有一点，我认为double(adj)修饰名词，twice(adv)修饰动词exported，但是还要请牛牛指正！
