Both your thoughts are not feasible.

You should consider reapplying to a top 20 US school.

If you want to go Ceibs, you should expect to work in mainland market.

You should not ask this question on this board, Most people here would like to change their career totally to finance or consulting. MBA is to get a better paid job. While for people like you, get a MBA is to obtain a non-technical job. Asia's environment is totally different from what is in U.S. O.K. Back to your own comments, I do not understand why you have to get the MBA degree to change the job function to technical sourcing? Many people in my previous company ( also one of the world's top three pharm company) change their job function easily within the company without the MBA. "intermediate sorcing " and "starting material" sorcing become more and more popular while the company try to reduce teir cost. China is a really big market now. I believe more company will establish their sorcing group in China locally. But I think in big pharm it is easier for a scientist to change to regular job function. Normally, QA or other regulartory related position(CMC etc.) has a better pay than the scientist. A master R&D scientist with 5 years' experience can have $80,000 to $100,000 USD, while the QA can easily be over $100,000. So why you spend such a long time to pursue a MBA? I think you may also know lots of chinese scientists there still have the same job function even after have the part-time MBA. MBA is not necessary in your case. Totally forget about back to china for MBA. That is not realistic. MBA here will not teach you any heaathcare related issue. The degree here will not help you get the job in U.S.

if you didn't see a people do one thing, it doesn't mean other people couldn't do the same thing. Some people go for MBA for better paying job, some people go for MBA for getting more knowledge. or some people go for MBA for fun or to fulfill a dream. I don't understand the definition of "neccesity" or "success" of some people. Only one could define the meaning for herself/himself. I think people could ask whatever question they want to ask. if person know the answer, they will not ask.I think the current education system bring up many single minded person, who treat high salary and high score as the highest priority of their life.

Actually it's vey tough to make a decision on it.

Who will make a great sacrifice in your family, your hubby, you or your kids? My answer is youself, definitly it is at this moment.

First, you wish stay with your kids, so you are the main person taking care of them, you need time and energy since one of them is newly born baby.

Second, your hubby has not settled down, that is a big problem for you and your family, you also don't wish to seperate with him. Btw, wish your hubby can find a job in your city.

So, my point is that you should NOT attend your MBA for this coming fall untill your hubby settle down. Because family and kids are much more important than your MBA/career at the moment. It will be better if this school allow you to postpone your course to next year or the year of next.
