I am to work in a $3000/week big law this summer, we have Yale, Harvard, GWU as
well as Northwestern and Utexas~ all have to be top 25%.  Keep in mind it
is much harder to get into 20% in Harvard but you are on the same footing as a
5% at Utexas!  Believe me, the bottom 20% in a T14 is faaaaaarrr less
touchable than a top 30% in a T50. 

        

I may not be able to provide more advice if you decide to E-mail me, not until
late May when I have finished my finals and relocate to DC.  Definitely
check out this woman's videos though~ I think they will be helpful

Other advice?  If you
want to get a big law job and not confident that you will be a top 3^rd,
it is advisable to work a y or 2 before leaving China.  Among the Chinese students in my school, I am
not the one with the best grades, but I got the best offer so far (as an 1L),
working experience definitely helps~
