wa, great minds always think alike:-) 1, there is slight difference between "if" and "when" here. I just felt "if" is based on an assumption, while "when" is more real. eg: 1) I feel very happy when I get 90% right in GMAT tests.(FACT) 2) I feel very happy if I get 90% right in GMAT tests.(GUESS) 2, here "as", i think, is just a conj. connecting the 2 clauses. 3, In fact, if there were no comma, " as" could be ommitted
