Renewable resources of energy (sun, wind, water) will soon replace the old resources of fossil fuels (gas, oil and coal), agree or disagree? As a student in Energy and Dynamical Engineering department, I really understand the importance of energy resources for our human beings. Fossil fuels (gas, oil and coal) can only support us for less than one hundred years more. At present, mobile cars or most the other dynamical machineries are (X) generally rely on fossil fuels, if we use it (them) up (run out of it), what should we do? Of course, renewable resources of energy (sun, wind, water) are the best substitute(s) for the fossil fuels. However, several reasons still constrain it(them) from soon(prompt) replacing the old resources. Firstly, excerpt Sun, the other two kind(s) of renewable resources of energy are few, it is far from (too few to meet) meeting our need. Officially,(as an official survey says,) it is only able to offer 2~3 percent of the total need. Second, it is still difficult to use the Sun energy due to technology level (restrictions). There is still no efficient machine that can transform as much as 5% of the sunshine energy into electronic (electric) energy. If it can not arrive at the level (5%), we can not generalize (translate) it to common use. As far as I know, the best way to use Sun energy is by plant oil (further interpretation needed). Technically, plant oil can not directly (be) used by various engines. It is a hot issue on how (to) reform the plant oil to make it usable for (in) industry (or)for scientist now. Third, it is necessary to reform our industrial system to fit the new energy resources. However, these industries are impossible to(unlikely to) change immediately; we not only need new invention(s) but also various approach(es) to technique (technically solve) difficulties. According to the above facts, we can conclude that it is impossible to replace old resources of fossil fuel by renewable resources of energy in science. Personally, I feel nuclear energy will be the best substitute for the old resources of fossil fuels. |
