题目：

学校是否应该出台规定，要求大学生至少选修一门介绍外国文化的课程。

我的习作(306Words)

As we are living in an ever globalized world, I strongly agree that college students should study at least one class about foreign culture. This knowledge can help us to understand others better than otherwise.

This culture knowledge can enhance our appreciation of what has happened, is happening, and will happen in other country. So to speak, just as open a new window to a inner-centered mind, so does the foreign culture course. My university offered a course on Japanese language and culture. There is profound hatred and misunderstanding between Chinese and Japanese, however, after I took this course, I knew more about this island country, I had a more objective attitude towards what happened between us in history. It taught me to look beyond the history and pay more attention to future. After all, we can do better tomorrow. I even made friends coming from Japan.

Can you imagine what will happen if we only care our own culture? We may be overproud of the splendid contribution that our industrious and cleaver ancestors have made. Is that enough? We for sure have a variety of deep-rooted shortcoming, without outside insight, it may take us a long time to spot and to overcome. We can also remember vividly what happened in the passing century---Two world wars. That is enough. It dawns on us all that nowadays the important conflict is not between different countries, but between man and war. Whether we abolish war, or we are abolish by war. Without mutual understanding of the different culture, we may be doomed to be involved endless conflicts.

All in all, foreign culture can not only help us to enjoy one more kind of wisdom and add color to our daily life, but can help us prevent from misunderstanding. Why not take such a nice kind of course?
