 Compare the advantages and disadvantages of establishing a new university in your community

   When faced with the government's plan to build a new university ,some people claim that it is really a good choice to place the university in our community, but others , in contrast, may hold an opposite attitude. As far as I am concerned, though there are some advantages of the suggestion , the drawbacks of it outweigh the positive aspect. My arguments for this point are listed as follows.

   The disadvantages of establishing a new university in our community is not far to seek.

   The first point can be obviously seen that it is a waste of land to build a university in our community for the place where I live is in the center of the city. As we all know, the area that in the city center is also the economic center of the city, where the land here is of high value. Just imagine that what it would be like if the government build a university instead of a great amount of skyscrapers, banks, shopping malls which will definitely decide the level of future development of the city.

    Another reason why I disagree the plan is that there are already quite a lot of university in our city including some famous ones such as Wuhan
                University and Hua
                Zhong
                University. Given that you can choose the universities developed both in fame and facilities, few people choose to enter another university that they know little about.

  Admittedly, establishing a university in our community has its own advantages. For one thing, it will attract more people come to our community which will finally have economical effects on the development of our community by their consumption. For another, some students in our community can get future education without moving far away from home.

   However, taking into account of the specific situation in our community, I do believe that it is not wise to establish a new university here.
