top US faculty jobs for non-US PhDs

What are the prospects for PhDs of leading non-US programs (i.e. INSEAD, LBS, etc.) to land faculty jobs at top-tier US schools? According to INSEAD's website, it seems that a sizable portion of its PhDs are placed at US schools (inculding Harvard, Wharton, UCLA, etc.)

Any wisdom, comment, or stories to share?

Different fileds might be dramatically different so it is hard to say. But I do believe INSEAD and LBS are able to place their students in top US institutions.

Both of them are well recognized worldwide. But placement really demands more other credentials. I feel strong research and good communication are much more important factors on the job market.

One professor recently gave me a lecture on the "LUCK" factor: elite schools don't hire new faculty (for every field) every year.
