First, congratulations!!!!

Second. I am thinking of the same thing. In my opinion, I think you should just file it. It won't hurt. You can wait for 485 while you are in law school. (That's what I decided to do before law school.) But expert opinion needed on this one.

There will be more options with green card. Don't wait.

How can you wait 485 while in law school, i though we have to change from H1 to F1 unless you are doing part-time, then we are no longer the employee of the original sponsor. I am in the same boat here. I am waiting for my 485, but looks like i have to wait three to four years, too much of sacrifice, so I decide to go to school this fall.

That's the right decision. If you already filed 485, you don't need to change from H1 to F1. You can attend school as visa pending. (I have a friend who went to medical school when her 485 was pending. She filed labor certificate.)  If you haven't filed 485 or are waiting to file 485, I think you need to change visa status from H1 to F1.

I am planning to submit the green card material before going to school.
